Question What's this? Anyone know?

There is a radiator type thing in the passanger footwel of my SC, the car (euro) came with A/C, it had a radiator for the A/C in the decklid, is this another??

I've pulled out the compressor and would also like to know how to remove the A/C lines that run from the engine to the front of the car..location? BTW I also have a condensor in the pass fenderwell, that will be removed in addition to the A/C stuff in the "smugglers box"

As always your insight, wisdom and experience is very appriciated!!

PS the Tensioner upgrade is done and she is alive and well!!

" I also have a condensor in the pass fenderwell"

Better follow the lines before tearing anything out. That "condensor" in the
wheelwell may be your oil cooler.
The "radiator" in the footwell is the a/c evaporator.

That is another AC component. You will have an evaporator, condenser, receiver/drying and plumbing to remove. Are you sure you want to ditch AC though? Its a really nice thing to have and I really wish my air cooled had it. If its not cold enough there is a very simple rotary compressor modification and electric fan modification that can be done for about $500 to make it blow cold like a liquid cooled AC system. Just letting you know.

Yeah I'm sure...when it's hot I just take the Top off : )

How do I access this? From under the front Pan?

Thanks for the oil cooler warning, I have a really nice Euro Brass cooler up there with the scoop in the bumper from our host...Never ever runs hot! Even up here when it gets 100+ in the summer...

Thanks for the advice/info EarlyPorsche and real550A
