Fuell Filler Overflow Sleeve
 

I switched to fiberglass fenders from Renspeed. The fuel filler door remains in the stock location. I'm having trouble with the fuel filler overflow sleeve
Part # 32 in this break down

Does the big end of this sleeve go up inside the fuel door housing or do I have to eliminate it with FG fenders? I dont see any way to attach the big end.
Can someone maybe post a pic of how this mounts inside the stock fender?
any help would be appreciated.

In a stock, steel fender there is a circular 'lip' that the large end slides into and a steel, circular 'expansion ring' that helps locate/hold it in place.

If your F. G. fender does not have such a lip molded in, I do not know how one would use this seal.

Perhaps others with FG fenders will chime in.

Thanks for the reply, Its been a while since I took the car apart and I no longer have the steel fenders. The glass ones do not have any way to hold the top of the thing in place and no where to install the locking ring. I guess I will have to either eliminate it or maybe think if something else to replace it with

Perhaps you could get one of those fiberglass repair kits and mold three small protrusions inside the fender and then just use screws to locate the seal?
It will not show anyway?

You will need something to locate the steel gas filler tube ...I assume?

Thats a good idea. I did have to fab up a mounting bracket to hold the filler neck in the right location.
