911 maintaince (watercooled)

I'm considering selling my '85 Carerra, and getting a later model, (02 to 06). Question. How often do these models require maintaiance? (Outside of the normal fluid changes). A dealer told me they require a big $$ service every 15K. This seemed odd to me, but before I get too serious about it, I thought I'd check.
