For the flag mirror haters, my assistant had to hold the replacement up so I could get a shot, go this new from Pelican Factory part.

Rear installed. Be careful not to cut your leg on the super extended pipes.

How many people's spare bedroom look like this? Car is pretty much stripped except back window and seats. Want to get the pop out qtrs set before I take it to the paint shop. All the rest of the parts are in the basement, can't take a pic of that!!

A little update. Body is in Primer, getting blocked this week with a chance of some color going on soon, the doors need the welding finished and they will go into primer. I was going to keep the color a secret, but the last picture is a teaser of what it will be.

Wow, progress is looking great! I did not recognize who this was at first until I saw your tailpipes. You still have that neighbor hater installed?;)

Thanks and Yeah still have them. I think the neighbors were happy to see it leave on a trailer. I am going to see if I can reconfigure the outlets to match up with the new bumper, like the sound too much to ditch it.

Holidays had us a little behind schedule but still it is moving right along. Body has been shot with the rest of the car getting sprayed this week. Color looks a little dark in the pics but it is brighter in person.
We showed up to pick up the old short hood fenders as they will not be needed (took them in case they found rust in the longhood ones). While we were there John said he is about to shoot the shell, so we hung around and watched it get sprayed. My son thought is was pretty cool as did myself. First couple of shots are in the booth as it was bakin. Other shot was sent to me by John.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks awesome Phil!

Brighter in person? You handing out sunglasses to passengers?:)

SCWDP911 01-03-2009 05:46 PM

Dude, I am so stinking jealous... +1 on the sunglasses. Looks great Phil.

Kemo 01-03-2009 06:27 PM

OMG!!! your car is going to be freaking fabulous! Excellent choice of color. With the RSR frosty fuchs, this will be one good looking car!

will you be using the silver Carrera graphics? and what do you mean by "black out"? you will be using the chrome right? (i hope)

great job...i cant wait for the updated pics!

w21055 01-03-2009 06:39 PM

Thanks. I am pretty happy so far, I was like a little kid watching them spray it.

All the trim will be chrome, got the bill from the plater on Tuesday, wow, probably should have stayed happy with what I had. I bought two sets of pop out windows and sent one set in to be replated. I also sent in the second set of latches for the pop outs to be rechromed so those will be for sale when I get them back. Actually I bought extra parts a couple of times so I will have a pretty big for sale post coming as I put it back together.
When I say black out, I mean the engine compartment and front trunk area. Also right above the muffler and the fender wells.

I will probably go with Black graphics this time.

Thanks again for the compliments, sunglasses will be furnished.
Phil

Looks awesome, I am surprised he did not shoot the rear light boxes? Or is he doing that later?

Kemo 01-03-2009 08:03 PM

oh...ok...i see now. so you will pretty much blackout the engine bay, trunk and interior. i guess you can do that with a rattle can. i cant wait for the final product. looking good man.

Elombard 01-03-2009 08:12 PM

ahhh...Phil does not do rattle can. :-) I am sure he will use automotive paint and do it properly.

richard003@wind 01-07-2009 06:01 PM
