I would say that it is another overpriced car, just like the other one.

Nice car. I'm not crazy about the black and tan interior with the jade green exterior, but I'd put up with it. Hard to say if it's worth 30K, I'd have to see it in person. I'm sure someone will pay it. If it's in excellent condition, you'd save lots of money over restoring yourself.

Cool color BUT the following details bother me for the price
1) NOT a carrera- welded on flares from a 87-89 2) silver dot guages- last year for that was 73 3) 16" wheels- ok as long as this is not represented as a being a carrera 4) poor attenion to paint detail! look at the painted sunroof seals and motor mounts- yuck 5) a/c clamp guiding wiring harness on the motor 6) cracked dash 7) standard 911 motor (as the vin says it should be) 143 sae hp 8) non standard sealing strip in the rear deck lid trough- that is an interesting idea to seal off the engine BUT it also seals off the sunroof drains at the back of the roof. Can you spell rust opportunity? 9) as other noted other details, but those are personal choices , like the rims, that are easily taken care of 10) 74 did not have the dash foam with the large cut out (where fasten seat belt lamp is missing), so this was a replacement part too. Most of the rest of the interior looks pretty original and decent condition 11) oh yeah- wrong mirror for a 74

I noticed about 1/2 of the things Dave noticed (TRE Cup) . Is it resprayed once or unrestored, original?? Can't be both. The color is WOW, too. I think the color is ugly, myself.
How much do you want to spend and what is your goal? Do you want some exclusivity or an investment? If you like early cars, why not find an long hood E in excellent Or an early 930 for less $? Doug

I like the color - weird and very 1970's. But the seats are pretty ghastly. Then again, why are we still discussing it? Hahahahahaha! If TRE is right and it's not a Carrera, then it's just a wildly overpriced '74 Coupe.

Christian,
Dave summed up this car well and Doug hit the nail on th head. The real question is what are you looking for for your $30K?? You haven't really made that clear. So it's difficult to give you thorough advice. I know what options I would be looking at and the overall selection, condition and value of this and the previous car just don't add up for me. So what is it from your perspective?

You keep posting these dodgy, overpriced cars in the $30K+ range, but it's real unclear what you are looking for. You talk about looking to buy an expensive 74 Carrera, then modifiying it carbs, etc. which makes no sense. Then you post an overpriced Carrera look-alike. Why not get a nice $15K SC? Or a mint condition $25K later Carrera? What are you looking for? |

Boy Maybe its time to sell mine if that is 30K .. but seriously I like the color wheel combo. seats and dash both look wrong and the painted engine mounts along with sunroof seals kill it for me

If that is the original body color its going to go for a ton more than others.
The few and far between people who have ordered 997's in rare Porsche custom colors and can make them survive the years will have one of the most valuable Porsche's due to the immense popularity and quality of the 997. |

30K? You can buy a pretty nice turbo for that!
