Angry Stolen Parts on Ebay?

I was browsing Ebay and noticed these two items.

I can't say for sure that they are stolen but don't you find it weird that the seller doesn't even know for sure the year car they came from, and these ARE VERY easy parts to Steal! Lets have one of the Caravans going to Hershey stop by and give him a visit.

I suppose he probably 'lost' the rest of the stereo from his 2000 911 and only has the faceplate left.

I've had the faceplate stolen out of my 911 too.

I remember in the '80s when firebirds and cameros with T tops were popular. The tops were stolen frequently and they could be purchased used.

Of course everyone with a T top car already had T tops, so no need to steal (or buy). The entire market for used T tops was created by the thieves, who in turn sold them back to people who had been ripped off.

Question

Check the history of the other auctions as well.
Who knows? Maybe he's an authorized dealer of excess BMW shift knobs and small electronics....

I just checked out his other auctions, all the same idea. So I emailed him with my concerns about the fact that these are easily stolen and asked him to respond and save my faith in the human race. We will see.

Well I got a response from him. After being sarcastic about my "cheap detective work" he told m that a friend of his owns an autobody shop and gives him these instead of throwing them away.

I beleive him! Because why would the shop keep things like the Porsche hood badge and all the rest of it.

He's a thief if you ask me.I just hope one day he has something he loves stolen from him!

I agree. These items are definitely hot. I checked out his other auctions. It's strange that almost all the items are things that could be easily stolen off a vehicle. How many sets of Jeep Cherokee wheels does one guy need. How about the PDA's, especially the one with the box and cable that he just happened to lose. Definitely the most suspicious collection of parts that I've seen for sale in awhile.

Cool

EBay is a thief's dream. You could steal anything and it would sell on EBay. Its sad, but true!

It could easily become a thief's nightmare since the record of all of the sales can be found. And if you pay, you pay someone by name. Just have to find a way to trace the parts...hrmm..

This can be reported to eBay staff and they will investigate.
