I'd like to see Gold Metallic 911 Pix

I'd really like to see pictures of your gold metallic 911s. These seem to be quite rare, but I think they look super cool. Like silver metallic, they make the lovely curves pop out. Post your pictures of gold metallic 911 cars here! Thanks.

Pretty rare. I've only seen 2. Saw an SC here last week that might be for sale.

Prior to that, saw a gold '73T about 15 years ago. (When you could buy a '73T for $7-8k.)

Gold is a deal killer for me, even tho I REALLY like Silver.

My '71 E was Gold Metallic, but the previous owner painted it a different color. Most were repainted because apparently the clear coat didn't hold up well and started to flake.

Here are some other picss I've collected over the years:

I can't wait to see this around LA, in person. I've been keeping my eye out, I guess I have to lurk around MBeach more often.

Here's mine, 1986 RHD. It has the equal length RSR headers and the straight pipe with silencer muffler, designed and tested here in Bangkok. Many other modifications on the engine and turbo. I use it for my dairy drive but never in the high traffic area of Bangkok.

I don't know how rare they are. My 71 and 72 were both originally gold metalic. My 73 is silver. So two out of three of mine were gold. My 72 was repainted black and I'm probably going to paint my 71 a different color also.

metallic gold '73S

These are all photos of Ed Cave's 1973 911S that came on the Carolina Trophy rally last year. It's truly one of the most spectacular 911's I have ever seen, and photos don't do the car justice. I never thought I'd like a gold car, but this one blew me away. The paint looks wet, and I've never seen a car that gets driven as clean as this one.

The reason I'm posting so many pics is because what struck me most about the color was how it changed depending on the light. In very bright sunlight it almost looks like Bahama Yellow or something, but at dusk or under heavy clouds it looks deeper and richer.

If you would have asked me a year ago what I thought of gold for a 911 color, I would have said I hated the idea. But this car really changed my mind. It's a unique and VERY appealing color.

Here's a shot of mine, which is also Casablanca Beige Metallic. Unfortunately, it's in pretty serious need of a fresh paint job right now (pretty faded in parts, and the driver's door was keyed at some point and the PO "covered" it up with gold rattle can paint from the hardware store). I bought it figuring I'd change the color, but the gold has really grown on me and I now intend to repaint it the same color. Working on making the mechanicals perfect now, then I'll worry more about the appearance.
