which starter?

I have a 3.0 in a 69 w/901 trans and need to replace the starter. I notice the 65-71 has 1 starter and 72-89 is another. Not sure what starter to use.

Get a high torque after market starter. You will not regret it with the 3.0.

I don't know if it is universal. As you know, the starter connects through the tranny. I have a 915 and it fits. You have a 901 so you better call and make sure it fits. My initial assumption is that it does, but do not trust my instincts for your car

Feb '08 Panorama has an add from Perf. Products for a hi torque starter. Ad says 68-89... I got mine from some other company that used to advertise in Pano... I forget who that was. It was 6-7 years ago. but it looks the same as the ad.

Best regards,

Michael
