While picking up some spark plugs from Advance Auto Parts I noticed on their computer that they offer Spark Plug Wires made by Autolite for my 87 carrera for $119.99. They are supposed to be factory spec wires, whatever that means.
Has anyone heard of these or tried them or should I stick with OEM? This price is $60-100 less than your normal suppliers of OEM wires. Thanks, Michael |

JUST GOT SOME MAGNACORE WIRES FROM TOM @ PELICAN. BETTER THAN THE FACTORY STUFF IF YOU TALK TO AMERICAN HOT RODDERS. PRICE NOT MUCH DIFFERENT THAN THOSE AUTOLITE

I recently rebuilt mine. This job costs about $6 for the screw ends, and no more than $30 of bulk cable, maybe $10. Plus any distributor-end or spark-plug end connectors that do not have the right resistance value. Spark plug ends are about $20-$25, and distributor ends are about $4 I think. This also got rid of the slightly frayed stainless steel braided stuff. Much cleaner. No misfiring.
It was so fun I wish I had another 911 ignition wire set to rebuild. I may build another one and throw it in the trunk. ------------------ '83 SC |
