Post My first repair..so far thumbs up..

Well my baby finally needed a little attention seems that the battery light didnt want to go completely out so I had to replace the alternator..well after the belt came off the rest was pretty easy so far I got the alternator out in about 30 minutes I used the tech article from pelican...the alternators down getting rebuilt now so I will have her back together tomorrow but so far its been pretty simple it should go back together as simple as it came apart.

Maybe this will make you feel even better about what you've done. The same repair, done by a shop in Missouri on a cross-country drive, set me back over $800.

When you do it yourself, you always know it was done right, and you have money for better upgrades.

congratulations on your repair....the more you learn about your car and can do things on your own, the more power you have and the more you can appreciate your 911....that's the attitude I've always had about my car.

Knowledge is POWER!

I'm starting to feel bad for my p-car wrench. Ever since I started getting dirty with my 911 I never stop by or call anymore. He must be pretty lonely by now...
There's nothing like stretching your back, and the feeling of well being after 2 hours of playing with your car... that and the $150 in labor you just saved.

Hey Jack

My shop ripped me a new one...I replaced mine with a new unit...cost me 600 for the unit alone, not including labor...

Of course this was before I found this site...now my wrench gets no business
