Anyone have a source to determine original sticker price?

I am just curious to know what original price was. Could not find anything in search. I would love to have a repro window sticker but not sure how to find that either.

I can tell you my 84' was 34k and change. The guy I bought my car from gave me the original window sticker. There was a thread a few months ago about a guy that was trying to reproduce them or something to that effect. You may find it with a search, good luck.

I too have been trying to get the proper info to create a repro window sticker.

I have found that even within a single model year, prices varied, but a lot less than between different model years.

I guess the prices just got higher and higher. Interesting how the 3.2 Carreras really increased in price.

I remember doing a check and my '89 Cabrio, partial leather, short shift kit, AC, power top standard (rims were chromed by Wheel enhancements as many were in the Socal area)
Price was ~58K.... pretty big jump from an '84....

Was inflation that big during those days? Oh well, maybe...

Yeah, I also would like to get a reproduction of the window sticker for a 1986 Carrera Cab that is a "ZZZ" or Euro version car. My car was turned into a wide body version in Europe but it's not a factory job.

If anyone has a window sticker for a Euro version Cabriolet that has "ZZZ" in the VIN please post the sticker or contact me.

Wow, $58K for an '89 Cab does sound high. In 1999 I bought a '96 Tip Coupe and the original sticker was not that much more than your '89. Porsche did brag about the lower comparative price of the 993 but for being 7 years later it was not that much higher.

Starting in around 84/85, the US Dollar took a dump (relative to value of the German currency and other world currencies), which caused a big rise in the cost of German cars. This continued until sometime in the early 90s. It stabilized after that.

That's why there was such a huge price increase during the Carrera range (84 to 89).

Bear also in mind that the MSRP of the Speedster was something like $65k, though of course with the speculative market, actual prices were over $100k at times. My mother bought her Speedster along with a then hot new 964 Carrera 2 convertible in May of 1990 for $150k(!)

Mine was purchased in Portland, and the original sticker says $32500, for the 1980 SC with Leather and AC. No pics of it, but I have it if anyone wants a look.

Just to illustrate what happened to Porsche prices over 10 years or so, here's a complilation of base prices for a coupe over the years. Some years there was a mid year price increase, so you'll see more than one number in some cases. I may have missed a mid-year price change or two but the numbers are close enough.

The price increase in 1980 had a lot to do with Porsche's decision to make quite a bit of optional equipment standard, so the real increase wasn't as drastic as you'd assume, as most cars had the options anyway. The rapid increase in the late '80's was more to do with currency fluctuations and Porsche's declining sales.

I bought a late production '86 930 and was not happy to have to pay $5k more for the car than what I would have paid for the same car, if I had bought it earlier in the model year. Prices were really starting to take off.

The PCA provides Authenticity Certificates that include the window sticker or dealer price of the vehicle but it costs $110 for the older cars and $95 for the newer models.

So.........I'll just wait for you guys to post some window stickers!

Do the PCA certificates also include a window sticker? If so, I am interested as mine is long gone.
