I find the feel of my SC's brake pedal very firm, but lacking in bite and sensitivity.
Don't get me wrong; the car stops well, it's just that I find the pedal pressure is higher than I'd like. BTW, the servo *is* working. The pads are (I think) stock OEM. Any hints as to what I could do to improve this without going to a whole new brake setup? ------------------ Doug '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA members.home.net/zielke/911SC.htm |

are your hoses fresh? they swell internally and seal off fluid flow as they age. does your servo hold vacuum? pop out the check valve after 5 min. and listen for a swoosh.

One quick way to check if the vacuum servo it working is to pump the brake pedal up with the car off, then start the car with your foot on the pedal. If the pedal drops when the car starts, the vacuum works. Not sure if this checks if it holds pressure, but at least its a start.

Thanks guys....I think the servo is ok, but the hoses are of unknown age (probably on the ancient side). I think I'll start by replacing them. Just replaced the brake fluid and bled the system a couple of months ago, so I know that part is fine.
