Steering wheel bearing? Whats missing...
OK this is on a 69, wheel has a lot of play, I bought the quick fix sleeve, but now read that its for late models. So took off the wheel and this is what I have, shouldn't there be a bearing or something in there? It's just wobblin around like a sack of nuts

Kevin,
The 928 bushing does not work for the old timers like us. The answer is in this thread: HELP! Steering wheel bushing quickfix???.

Kevin,
There should be pressure spring (91434771300) that slides onto the steering wheel bushing. I had the same problem on my 70T. With the spring in place the steering wheel play was completely gone. Ulrich |

Here's the pic that shows the sleeve and the spring under it. Hope this helps.

Hey Kevin,
Wanted to say "hi". Next time you have a project on the '69 let me know and I'll see if Nutmeg (kevin) from Fresno can stop by. He is an aircraft mechanic, so he's meticulous as all heck. Be safe, Russ Nakata (Rusnak) |
