Can somebody describe to me how I raise the rear of my car using the eccentric bolts on the swing arms? The Bentley manual is rather week on this subject. What are the required tools? One side has sagged a bit, and I want to see if I can adjust it out with out having to mess with the torsion bars.

I'll make this question easier.
Do I adjust the eccentric bolts with the wheel off and the car on jack stands, or can it be done with the tires on the ground like the front adjustment? ------------------ Bill Krause '79 911SC Euro |

Technically the bolts are to be used for fine corner balancing. If you are adjusting the height by more than a 1/2" you will probably have to re-index the trailing arms on the torsion bar splines. If you are looking for a small amount of movement, then I recommend the following: raise the side you wish to adjust, loosen the frontmost bolt. For the rearward concentric, you need a very thin wrench (sold by Performance) to hold the head and bolt stationary while you loon the nut. Once the nut is loose, move the bolt either clock or counterclock depending on whether you are raising or lowering to gain movement on the trailing arm. I have never tried to adjust the bolt with weight on the arm since the wrench is pretty thin and advertised as 'for holding only'.

Bill, moving the left side (drivers) bolt counterclockwise will lower it 1/2" max and will give more negative camber. right side turn clockwise to lower. 81'SC
