Engine lid Lock upper part

The red arrow is pointing to a jam nut. Don't be like me and break out the torch and Pb the pi#$ out of it just to find out that if you loosen the jam nut it'll come apart.
The reason I went through all of this was I got another lid and it wouldn't close all the way. I screwed the pin in about 1/2 inch and now my new engine lid closes all the way.
Funny, I had the flat base in the bench vise, tried to use a bf screwdriver and messed up the slot on the pin side. Broke out the torch, vice grips and commenced heating this thing and spraying with PB 3 or 4 times. Finally the pin started to turn. I didn't stop until the pin was completey off, thats when the jam nut fell off.
