Modify Bosch Icon wiper blade to 13"
Has anyone tried to cut down the new Bosch Icon blades to 13" to fit a 911?

I have heard a lot of divided views over that style of wiper. After seeing the price I decided just to stick with the standard wiper.
Marketing and my understanding had to believe that this wiper was introduced because of ice. Standard wipers do not work too well in ice, the ice builds up around the hinges and prevents the blade from conforming to the windshild. So they then introduced the wiper that has a big black boot around the whole arm. This prevented ice from building and the wiper could still conform however the it had a very big cross section and at higher speed would lift from the windshield. So the then introduced this style of wiper. It has no moving parts to freeze and has a very small cross section so it should be the ideal candidate. However, I don't drive my 911 in icing conditions so I am not worried, current wipers and rain-x have always worked for me. To answer your question; I don't see why you couldn't take a little bit off from each end and still have it work. Give it a shot. Cheers and good luck. |

well, I went and did it.............thoughts/comments/suggestions?
I bought the wipers (16"), and just for sh_ts and giggles, tried them prior to trimming to 13". They fit! The drivers side over hang is a bit more pronounced, but otherwise, they fit and function well. See below:
