alright, where do I get the full page version?? I would have to stick around to see the guys reaction.... I would deffinetly need a video tape though....

That would be FAR too funny.

By the way, don't forget to add: 'Value of vehicle only 1/3 the value of the vehicle' (this is actually dangerous because the bumper could rattle off in traffic!)

Perrrfect, and it coincides with my 2nd visit to www.beaterz.com ! If you haven't been there, go now. It rules. Of particular interest is the car with the tail on the roof. One in the back, and one on the roof. It still gives me nightmares.

You know there's some pretty ugly cars out there, and I'm probably going to be flamed for saying it, but what exactly is the difference between trying to make your Civic look like a Type R and slapping huge spoilers on it, and putting RSR flares and spoilers on your 74 911?

Admittedly the 911 might(!) be done better since the guy doing it probably has more money but it's still trying to make your car into something it's not.

The Merc that got 'busted' is a good example - http://www.ricecop.com/ricepics/mercedesrice.jpg

it may look ridiculous (beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I know), but it could have left the factory like that. If not someone is making their 190E look like the Cosworth engined 2.5 liter EVO II (Batmobile) that Merc used for German touring cars. If it was done well, why not??

There is however a difference between doing a good replica of something that is now un-affordable to the average person, and chucking money on random external mods that will devalue the car, and make it go slower!

Need to add a couple:

1) Body mods providing non-functional air scoops

2) Interior trim elements painted for no apparent reason

Check color ___ Red ___ Yellow

In my observations, this affliction is not reserved for the "rice boys" (is there some ethnic jab here?). There are plenty of "merican" examples of poor taste (whatever that means). The only reason you commonly see this phenomena is that there are few people who want to own, much less modify a Chevy Caprice.

Should we call ourselves "kraut boys"?

The citation isn't long enough to include all the crap you see on the ricers. But how can you leave off....PVC roll cages?

There is nothing about being racist... The reason they are called that is because it was started by asians in Cali and Japan but now escalated to everyone... I think it also might be because their exhaust sounds like burnt rice

Talking

It's all good. My wife is half-Japanese and calls them "rice boys". And she laughs harder than I do at some of the hair-dryer powered rice crap out there.

Anyway, I believe the etymology is from "rice-burners", i.e. cars that were made in Japan. Where, of course, rice is its own food group.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Japan. You think it's bad here in the States? Count your blessings, boys.
