1982 SC Starting Problem

I know this is a common problem and has been discussed on here ad nauseum. However; I can't seem to find the answer. I have done the following to try to remedy my intermittent starting issue. Changed the starter and the electrical portion of the switch, checked all grounds and connections and cleaned my ignition tumbler. My next question is: does my car have a seatbelt/ignition cutoff switch like some other Porsches? I know some of the 914's had this switch. I looked under the seat, but found nothing. I have also looked for a car alarm to be the culprit, but I can't find one on the car. Sometimes when I turn the key, the electrical comes on, but the last spring loaded part of the switch doesn't engage. Also, the seatbelt buzzer has sounded a few times while I'm driving. Have I missed something?

Oh yeah, here's a picture from yesterday, great day.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1204584043.jpg

It sounds simple but clean/wire brush the battery terminals-even if they appear clean. BTDT.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch, which isn't all that uncommon.

your seat belt buzzer can be an indicator of failed v-regulator..overcharging bypasses the diode..common problem on these cars..could have fried battery, caused sulfation or boiled out the battery liquids...murf
