Ok I have had the alternator in and out of my car several times checking and double checking my work everything is done right and I did take the alternator back to the shop that rebuilt it and he bench tested it right in front of me and it was charging so I reinstalled it and also replaced the regulator started the car up the battery light is on and I put a volt meter on it and its putting out 12 volts while running. The guy at the alternator shop said something is not energizing the alternator...where do I look now I have checked all the fuses and they are ok......any imput would be appreciated..dont want to have to take my baby to the shop.

More specifically, the Blue wire ... which supplies ehergizing current to the field coils of the alternator, and needs a ground in order to be lit up! Check both paths, i.e., the one from regulator to alternator, via pin 11 of the 14-pin connector and to the gauge bulb lead from the 14-pin connector ... for a solid ground with the wire disconnected from regulator, alternator, and gauge!
