Oil Squirters
Hello, I don't own a Porsche, I am a VW type IV owner. I'm in the process of a build up, incorporating oil squirter into the crank web to supply the inner of the pistons. On the 911 engines, any of them with squirter, is it taped from the crank web? . My concern is on my type IV engine and how it was modded for the squirter; I fear to much oil pressure will be taken from the crank. There is about a 5/16" hole added to the bearing, just for the oil squirter's. The squirter are Porsche and I am aware of the squirter's having a resistor of about psi. Can anyone clear this up for me? I don't want to spin a bearing because of losing to much oil pressure for the squirter's.

Your squirters are properly installed. That's how we did the Type I's for many years, without any issues. The squirters don't steal too much oil from the mains.

Thank you
I had the work done at Rimco, they had to mod the main bearings; the same size oil supply hole that came from the main web, is the same size the new modded hole is for the squirter. This size won't cause a pressure loss?

The squirter's orifice determines the flow, not the 6mm supply hole. Besides ... there's a check valve in the squirter that won't even open until the rpms begin to increase. Anyhow, it's not an issue. Porsche did their homework.
