Question Electrical question

Could some one please give me the basics for an MFI engine. Turn the ignition and what happens? Basic wiring from alternator to starter, and ignition.

I'm hoping to get some help here. Let me explain better what I need to know. When the ignition is turned on I suspect the fuel pump starts, When I start the starter I suspect the cold start solenoid gets energized and only for the time the starter is cranking. I have an engine that is going in a project with no harness I will make it as I go so I need to get the particulars down, and if any one has any ideas on how to accomplish this they would be appreciated. As well as where the leads coming from the alternator go. Thanks.

& the key to the above wiring diagram is :

Bruce,

Your assumptions are correct, but not quite complete. My suggestion is that you print out the following diagram and part number key, and laminate it for future reference. The wiring of the MFI and engine is identical to '73 models, and I recommend using the same color code for everything! A parts recycler might be able to supply an MFI engine compartment wiring harness.
