Need advise on service techs
I posted this a while ago and wanted to get some fresh input. I live in Indiana just outside of Vincennes. (southwest part of state) I'm going to need servicing this spring...valve adjustment, spark plugs, brake/clutch fluid etc.
Anyone have any suggestions? There are two places that come up and if anyone has any comments please let me know. Foreign Performance in Evansville, Indiana Precision Service Co in Lawrenceville, Illinois. This a one man shop, fellows name is Thomas R. Tipsword. I'm willing to consider going to Indianapolis should there be an exceptional shop there. Thanks! David

Sorry, no help in Indiana. If you want my opinion on your State Police, that's another and longer story.
I think you will find most people on this BBS encouraging you to do this routine maintenance yourself. Very doable for those who have the interest. If time or interest are not there, I'm sure you will get some good recommendations on honest mechanics.

I lived in Vincennes 20 years ago. Have been out of the state for 12 Years. Evansville, Bloomington, Indy. Have good independent shops, they don't have a lot of P-cars in the area, never knew why?. I would call around or wait for someone to chime in.

Bloopington should have a shop - it is a larger town & has IU, whose denizens are more likely to relish Pcars, or other foreign makes. It also has pubs, restaurants, etc. for entertainment while the car is being repaired.

Bloomington does have a foreign car shop. They mainly specialize in BMW's. I gave them a call and they said they were willing to work on my '89 3.2 but I did not come away from that conversation with much confidence at least regarding Porsche work.
I will probably take my M3 there as I've heard positive things about them regarding BMW. Anyone have any comments about Blue Grass Porsche in Louisville? Thanks! David
