I think the original Porsche item is made by Sachs. Probably available as OEM most places. Also there's LUK, but I don't know how good they are.

stay with the stock SACHS stuff for longevity and ease of function. resurface the flywheel too.

You may already have heard this, but avoid the rubber-centered discs.

I put a Truman aluminum flywheel and a Sachs, I believe it was, aluminum clutch into the '83 SC that I just finished restoring. I did it with some trepidation, figuring I'd be killing the engine every other time I started from a dead stop, etc., but it turns out to work just like a normal clutch. Haven't killed the engine once yet on a startup, although it revs and stops just like you'd expect a car with a lightweight flywheel to and idles just fine at 700 rpm. Some people say it would die whenever the a/c came on at idle, but I ripped my entire a/c system out anyway.

I put a Sachs aluminum clutch on my 83SC.I got the clutch and all the associated parts needed for a good clutch replacement from Pelican.Be sure to get new throw-out bearing and have your flywheel checked or even order a new one and if it is not needed send it back.I ordered everything needed for a clutch job except the flywheel,I thought I could get it re-finished, it was to far gone...my mechanic provided one at his cost (ouch!)
