front sway bar through the body or not
are the through the body bars really that much better. My 77 has the stock bar (non through type).
I plan to do some auto-X and maybe some drivers Ed but do not plan to get really anymore serious with separate track tires etc. It will be a daily driver (ZR rated tires now with 30MM rear bars & bilsteins)but will get bilsteins up front and 21mm bars soon. (nothing special) I am leaning towards keeping the same type of sway bar up front but would like to hear from anyone who has converted through the body and the results. thanks for any help steve [This message has been edited by H20911 (edited 04-29-2001).] |
The real advantage of through-the-body type are more choices and adjustability in the case of the aftermarket units. With the underbody type you're stuck with what the factory offered and the design is less effective. (for a given bar diameter) But the torsion bars you've added are more important anyway so if your not getting too crazy, your stock type is fine.
