Am unable to ascertain via search feature or Google the type of 911 this is-- Carrera, S, or garden variety 911. Any pointers as to which type of 911 appreciated. The S/N is 9117200596- car is a 1977

FYI, for 1977 in the US there were only two models: 911S and Turbo Carrera - and perhaps base Carreras as well - not sure.
So I guess you could say the US "garden variety" 911 was the "S". Badge engineering at it's best. (but I still love mine!) Ron
