Removing the rock-guard in front of rear wheel well difficult?

Can this be done without raping the paint (on a black 911)? Sorry if my posts are getting too simple! Thanks,

Kurt

If it is factory paint, won't be a problem removing it. Heat it up before trying (with a heat gun or strong blow drier), though, and go slowly. Gotta heat it up.

If the car has been repainted, there is no way of predicting, because it's impossible to know how firmly the paint has adhered to the body.

With a good heat gun you should be able to remove it. The only concern with a black car is the paint behind it will not have had UV exposure and may show the rest of the paint has faded a bit. Work slowly. Try the small bit on the torsion hole coverplate first. If it is not cut away from the rest of the stone guard, you can cut an arc with a blade and then try peeling it off with a heat gun.

If your car has been repainted, the paint may come off with the stoneguard, even with heat.

Go very slow.

Where are you located? If warm climate, would help greatly (esp w/ a black car) to park it in the sun for a while first.

Thanks so much for sharing your info with me. I hope that I become knowledgeable enough to impart my wisdom on future newbies!

The car in question that i may purchase has these guards, and I think that they take away from the look of the car unless the car is light colored. Thanks again

Kurt

i have bad paint on one side. i worked super slow, and cooked my SO's hair dryer. i got it off without pulling any paint off. i was stunned the paint was cracked underneath, so i stuck a new stoneguard right back on. "i didnt see nutin!"

heat is your friend.
