Hi Folks,
I've got my 3.0SC engine apart right now, and discovered something rather disturbing about my head studs. The PO said that they (the lower row) were Dilivar (Dilavar?), and to all appearances they are. However, they appear to be a batch of the fakes that were circulating in the 80's, as they are ferrous as proven by a magnet. So I'm wondering what to do. They have the epoxy coating on them, and it is not chipped. The recommended stud now seems to be steel anyway, so I'm curious if I should just re-use them. Anyone had any experience with longevity with the fakes? Thanks, Adam |

I don't know about fakes but with my rebuild we used 964 studs, problem solved.
