Under dash A/C-Heat tubing 1983
I have an 83 turbo look cab. When I bought the car it needed many little parts
to get it back to its original glory. My problem is this, I just recently added A/C and the side vents on my dash don't work. I checed under my dash and the tubing is missing! Does anyone have a picture to send me of both the driver side and the passenger side under the dash? There are three openinings on each side for tubing and I think it requires a T to complete. I would greatly appreciate any of you out there to send me a pic so I can complete my car. The exact location is in the driver footwell behind the carpeted cover on the left side and the oppisite side on the right. Thanks!! |

Does cool air come out of the 'bowtie' opening?
The carpeted cover is over the return, not supply, for the A/C on an 83, I think... Is it a US car? If ROW, it may not have had A/C. Last edited by tcar; 03-20-2008 at 02:28 PM.. |

The hose that is located behind the carpet in the footwell was also completely deteriorated in my car as well.. I for the life of me couldn't find a diagram anywhere not even here at our host..
So I took measurements and it seems to be 2" 5/8" X 18" I also have a/c (disconnected) and I believe this is a heat related return hose. Still looking for the correct replacement hose for this area, I'm now looking for race shops who offer that "red" air hose in the correct size needed. The A/C hoses that lead to the vents on each side of my dash are much smaller in size (1"X xx") and can be found in our host's diagrams.. IIRC these hoses run from the center control box under the hood to all three vents..I'll try to get some pics taken today and post a little later.. However as my a/c system is disconnected maybe it would be better for another pelican to post pics of there under hood hose routing..just incase mine is missing something... Did you try a search?
