So when I check my oil I check it on a level surface, running, with tmep at the lower tick mark (~190F) and I fill midway betweent he marks on the dip stick...okay...
But as I notice as the weather gets hotter, if my temp is 220F or right in the middle of the temp guage, the oil level reading on the oil level guage gets much higher...so a reading at mid level on the oil guage at 190F now is almost full on the oil guage when the temp is 220F ish Does the thermostat keep opening wider as the temp goes up, or should it be wide open at a warm up temp like 190F Because it is strange that based on temp I can increase my oil level...I thought we checked oil level at warm up so we are checking after the oil thermostat has opened all the way and oil is now flowing thorugh the whole system...if I was checking my oil level at 220F, I would have thought I overfilled my oil tank... thanks And maybe this explains the slosshing and gurrgling I hear in my oil lines going to the trombone cooler...maybe a partially open thermostat is causing turbulence???? thanks again guys, |
