Post Hard clutch after pedal rebuild

Changing the cable and rebuilding the cluster with bronze bushings helped a bit, but it's still too hard. It's hard enough that anyone driving my car for the first time will stall it several times before they figured it out, and the strength required wears on you after a while.
My 914 clutch was very light, should a 915 tranny be as light as a 901, and if so, could something else be causing my clutch to be so bloody hard?
Oh, the return spring (one in the cluster) could be weak I guess, and that would cause it to help the human less...

the release geometry of the pressure plate is affected when the disc gets real thin. my guess is you need a clutch.

Isn't there a big helper spring beneath the car as well? I broke mine on my 83SC and the clutch was a bear to use. I heard it snap, scared the @$% out of me, but it was a cheap repair.

Just want to cap this post. The stiffness was significantly improved by adjusting the clutch adjustment bolt that goes through the clutch cable lever (clutch actuator lever...don't know what you call it)

I didn't know the cable doesn't actually pull the clutch lever itself. It pulls a lever that in turn pushes the clutch lever. A bolt through the cable lever makes contact with the clutch lever, and this can be adjusted (it has specs in bentley)

The main point being, the spring in the pedal cluster must be applying its maximum force when the clutch is resisting its maximum value. Before, this was off: their force curves weren't even close to balanced.

Once again, there is more to the clutch/clutch cable actuation than just adjusting the cable housing nuts! Will I ever *really* know what I'm doing? It sure doesn't seem like it.
