Scavenge side oil pressure???

Does anyone know what the oil pressure range is on the scavenge side of the oil pump? Specifically, an SC oil pump. I am trying to determine what sort of pressure I should see going to the front cooler with the thermostat open.

Question relates to having two front coolers in series. I can pump through a single cooler fine, but I suspect that the two coolers in series create enough pressure drop, such that the thermostat thinks the cooler is clogged, and opens the bypass.

One cooler is a dinky Mocal, and the other is a Fluidyne. Both are plumbed with AN-12 hose and connections. The original factory hard lines to the former trombone cooler are intact.

TIA
Pat

Could the -12 lines and a couple of fitting 90's be causing the front loop pressure to exceed the bypass pressure point? Is the path of least resistance in affect here? I have -20 lines for max flow, minimal pressure increase.

Yes Ted, they certainly could. I doubt the pressure drop in the lines and fittings are the cause of the percieved problem, however. This is why I want to know what the pressure is, so I can check it. I may have a weak pump, for all I know. Lots of guys tell me they can run two coolers in series without a problem, just wondering why I can't.

Borrowing from Ted's username, I drove the car for twenty miles in third on the highway at 5000 RPM. The pressure losses, wherever they are, are too great to pump through two coolers. So, I am just going to let it rip through the front cooler for the next couple of days at WG, and see how that works out. I am going to put in a pressure gauge today, just to see what kind of pressures I have in the line.
