1990 C2 Tiptronic at Victory Motors
I've read the threads about Victory Motors. Wondered if anyone here has either seen this car listed on Ebay in person or is willing to pay them a visit and give me your opinion of the car.
It has been listed before and not reached Reserve. Wondered if there is a known problem with the car. In a stroke of genius this morning, I mentioned to my wife that if I bought a Tip, she could drive it. "I've always wanted to drive a Porsche" was her reply. She is now eager for me to buy it for us to both enjoy. Thanks for your help and comments.

I would advise that you fly down and look at the car and drive the car yourself. I would also have the car taken to Protecnik off 59S/Beltway 8 for a PPI. They are hands down the best Porsche shop here in Houston. They run the trackside support for all PCA sponsored events. Victory is known to be dishonest (Selling a cream puff that isnt a creampuff), that said, they also sell some decent cars... so its one place where Id want to see/drive the car myself. Id be happy to take a look, but I drive an 83, and so i dont really know the 964 cars and what to look for and I wouldnt want to steer you wrong... Maybe there is someone here that drives a 964 that would be willing to take a look... either way, Id take it to Protecnik for a PPI.
I would avoid Koby motors for a PPI. And while I like Eric at Eurocar-werks, and he knows his stuff, two things that were pretty significant were missed on mine... Good Luck!

+1 on going to look yourself or having a ppi with someone not affiliated with Victory.
I do believe that they sell some nice cars. But mine was grossly misrepresented. Probably could have negotiated it down 3-4k had I done a PPI. I really didn't know any better at the time. Five years and nearly $20k later and I am a happy camper. Finally.

+2 with Brad and MCA. Before I purchased mine, I followed Victory on ebay for several months and noticed that they ask a premium for the cars...considerably more than what the rest of the market was asking.
I then decided to Google "Victory Motorcars" for more info. What I found was extremely informative, to say the least. I recommend you do the same before you make your next move. Some of the cars have reportedly been in "pristine" condition...others, not so pristine (as advertised). YMMV Good luck and Happy Hunting.

A tiptronic vs a happy wife. Hmmm, that would make a tough choice
