Remember "Bastard?" New home!
It's been almost 2 years....since I started backdating my baby, better known as "Bastard." (has it really been that long?
)Well as some of you guys know...some projects just take too long! If they are even finished at all. I've been busy..very busy the last 2 years...and the latest and biggest project that's been keeping me busy is the new man house where I can finish Bastard. I have to finish this Bastard! It's the only vehicle out of the 6 that I own which I will not get rid of. I came close a couple of times...but it was too difficult to get rid of it. So once the Garagimus Maximus (my man house) is finished, I'll get busy finishing poor Bastard.

10' walls with approx. 13 feet of clearance at the ridge line
Guess what I need the ceiling height for?

What kind of lift are you getting? Oh and FRENCH DOORS; excellent for moving engines and motorcycles in and out of the house...
That kind of space is the only reason I ever consider moving to the burbs. My city garage has a 7' ceiling and the house is on a lot as wide as a supermodels ass, meaning: no room for expansion.

Motorcycles?
![]() The french doors lead to a small shop which will be perfect for me to play with engines in...and there is an office connected to it for the supermodels to come see if I can't find a way for expansion ![]() I've got a ton of stuff going on in the attached garage right now, so I had to store the motorcycles and Bastard in the new detach Garigimus for a little bit. Yep! I love the burbs. If I could convince the family and if I could afford it...I would move further out from the density...and get a farmlette...5-10 acres. Edit: I've got a scissors lift right now. It's staying in the attached garage. My lady has suggested that I keep it instead of selling it when I put a 2-post in the rear garage. It's nice to have the scissors lift for getting the car prepped for a track day....brakes and suspension checks are a snap with the mid-rise lift. And if I wasn't getting a good deal on a 2-post from a friend, I might not even think of it for a while... Last edited by MotoSook; 02-07-2006 at 12:14 PM.. |

Talk about sad...I sit at the office and stare at the pictures sometimes. Argh! I need a sabatical to get all the projects done!
To be honest, the man house is more Garagimus Medius..but it's big enough for now besides..Garagimus Maximus sounds more manly ![]() ...but then my lady and 9 yr think it sounds like gluteus maximus...so they started calling it the butt house

Holy COW! And a detached house for the less important crap!
![]() Very nice. I can't tell what the back wall looks like but do you have an oerhead door back there too? I see a small and a large opening.. I put a small overhead door (8X7) in the rear of mine so I can have a nice breeze way to work in during the summer nights... |

Excellent.
The rear door means I can just drive my motorcycle around to the front once I go out the rear...no need to risk scratching the car and no need to back it out And I can part the lawn tractor in there also without moving the car out ....19 motocycles! |

You guys S*CK!
On the other hand: It was over 70 degrees and I drove my ragtop today. Did you? You need your garages to hide from the elements for at least six months out of the year! George |

Souk;
You are the man. My gaers are turning here - maybe if I add to the back of the house & move the kitchen back...... reinforce the floor, I can have a 4 car. Damn, I forgot - I have a wife. Ah, back to the dream.

Souk, it looks like you have a nice setup in the works!
I moved to a house in the boonies on 9 acres 10 years ago and would not have it any other way. While in my 20's, I lived in the city and partied hard which was fun while it lasted but now I am happiest when out playing in the shop or doing something outdoors (dirtbikes, shooting etc). My kids go to a relatively trouble free rural highschool and my nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away! To all you guys lusting for a bigger shop/garage. Be careful what you wish for. When one gets a bigger building, it basically gets filled up with more stuff so that you end up needing MORE room! My shop is 50 x 80 insulated pole construction. One end is seperated into a paint booth, work shop and office all seperated by internal cheap garage style doors. The larger main portion, I usually only heat to around 45 degrees, while the other rooms each have their own heaters and thermostats. I expect no pity , but I am actually thinking of adding 20 x 50 lean-to's on both sides for easier car parking on one side and non heated outdoor equipment storage in the back one. You just can't ever have enough space!
