Gone but not forgotten

After 3 years of work and love some idiot decides to turn right in front of me. The car took a good hit and still protected me. Can't buy another one right now so bought an a6 quattro. Has real a/c! Thanks to all whom helped with my addiction. I'll be back.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206283425.jpg

Dang. Sorry to hear that, glad you're ok.

What's going to happen to the car?

nyne11 03-23-2008 07:53 AM

Ohh....Noooooo!! So sorry mate! I really feel for you after all your hard work. Hope your insurance company can recognise that as well.
Dave.

DUK 03-23-2008 07:56 AM

That sucks. Hope all turns out well.

Zeke 03-23-2008 08:02 AM

Sorry to hear this. Looks like the car folded up and took a lot of energy. Good thing for you, not so good for the car. Glad it worked that way rather than the other way around. Still, it sucks.

You'll get another good one some day. Tell the other driver WE think he's an idiot! All 45,000 of us. :D

overman 03-23-2008 08:58 AM

Paul... Thank God your ok, sorry this happened to you! Let us know who the insurance company is and how they take care for you.

Paul K 03-23-2008 09:20 AM

Did you jump out and give the idiot a good thrashing?

If not, I'm sure we can arrange it...

Hope you're soon back in a 911!

Cheers,

Paul.

I hope that you are alright. It is sad to see such a nice car damaged like that. Are starting to collect front end damaged vehicles?
Seriously, I certainly hope the insurance co. has not or will not be screwing you over on it. Sad to see...

Paul LeFevre 03-23-2008 10:34 AM

Unfortunately I couldn't buy car in florida. My insurance paid me $18,000. Now I'll go after him for what I hope will be another 3k. I have about 7k in receipts for just parts alone. Did most of work my self. Even did my first valve ajustment 2 wks. ago. At least the abuse from freinds and family will stop. (They just don't understand the illness.) Those 8&9in. bbs where very sweet.

Danny_Ocean 03-23-2008 12:34 PM

Hmm...you're in Naples. Lemme guess...the person who turned in front of you was elderly and driving a Mercury Grand Marquis, yes? They were turning in to a Walmart, a CVS, or a restaurant offering an early-bird special for seniors. Am I close?

Paul LeFevre 03-23-2008 03:01 PM

No, not from this country!

ZAMIRZ 03-23-2008 03:09 PM

Damn! That suuuuuuuucks! Your car looked like a beauty too with that maroon conv. top and BBS wheels. Good luck with the Audi, they're stout machines.

3.2 CAB 03-24-2008 06:02 AM

Paul, I totally agree with you about the BBS wheels, but then I am very partial to them. Tony.

Rot 911 03-24-2008 06:15 AM

It is amazing the amount of impact damage a 911 can absorb! Glad you are alright.

Dantilla 03-24-2008 04:21 PM

Your damage looks almost identical to the '87 Targa that gave its engine, wiring harness, suspension, flares, and a bunch of other little bits and pieces to my 1973 coupe.

Paul LeFevre 03-25-2008 11:27 AM

It's good to know that with any luck it will find a good home to all you super people whom save and up-grade the older models for enjoyment for yourselves and other future owners. God bless you all.

cdrik915 03-25-2008 12:50 PM

You're allright and that's the essential !!!:D

Hoping you'll find another one as beautiful as was this one.

Sincerely ,

Cedric.

GH85Carrera 03-25-2008 03:46 PM

That is the big reason I have stated value coverage on my 911. If it is totaled I know just what my insurance company will pay me. Then they can go after the guilty party. Hopefully that will never happen. I would prefer my car to the cash.

Insurance update

Totaled 88 cab with 165,000 miles, clean but in need of top end rebuild. I initially received $18,500 but provided $10,000 in receipts for repairs and maintenance over a 3 yr period. Insurance issued $4,000 additional check! $22,500. Gone to the bank and not looking back. Sorry I had to jump ship to Audi A6 but needed AC in SW Florida. Thanks for all the info in the past!

BeauBlues 08-05-2008 11:47 AM

Oh how I feel your pain, and then some! I didn't end up so lucky with the ins. Let's just say the amount I'm getting is much lower and I'm not happy with it either.
