Removal of Interior Door Panels - help
I am looking for info on how to remove an interior door panel on an early car. My passenger door latch died yesterday. I have searched here and elsewhere to no avail. Any info would be appreciated.
Obligatory pic (when the latch still worked ![]() ![]()

If your car has original door pockets, then you have a different proceedure. The rear pocket is easy enough--just remove the elastic cord and unscrew the plastic hinges on the bottom. The front pocket is a little tricker. It is held on by hinges at the bottom, a screw by the front of the pocket, near the top that is easily accessable. The final holder is a 10mm nut that you must access through the hole the fold-down pocket covered. The nut is on a bolt coming from the top rim of the pocket and can be removed with a small socket or box wrench.
![]() In the photo, the nut is just behind the door panel where the chrome strip on the pocket rim meets the vinyl.
