8 in Rear Tire Sizes

My 89 has stock 8 in x 16 Fuch wheels and 225/50 tires. The wheels look a little under-tired. Are there alternative sizes to use on that wheel that are basically the same diameter? I looked for 235/45 but don't see any. How about 245/45? Or would those be too wide or tall for the stock fenders?

thx

An 8" wheel is at the large end of the spectrum for a 225/50x16, just what you want!

You can also use 245/45 w/o too much of an issue, except finding that size in the tire you want.

I have 245/45 x 16 on 8 inch Fuchs on the rear of my SC and they seem to fit fine and are wearing great.

245/45's are getting harder to find. they are still out there, but most of the manufacturers are trying to steer you to a 245/50 16.

I'm running 245/45's and have no fitment problems.....

I checked the size on TireRack's website and it came back with 11 choices.

I believe that is what I am running on the front, with the 245/45's on the rear.
