As promised: Pic of my White '98 911 Carrera S with White Wheels

Wheels are new factory 18" Technology Hollow-Spokes surrounded by fresh Michelin Pilot Sports. Ordered from Wheel Enhancement; had them strip off the factory silver paint & clearcoat and paint them the Glacier White body color. They did an incredible job. I think it is a much cleaner look than the standard silver wheels.

That is one nice 993! I love your car and you are absolutely right, those wheels look like they belong there more than the original. Very tasteful!

That is beautiful. How can you drive that car in the city? With paint that nice, I'd be so paranoid...

sweet car. Modern 911s don't do it for me, but that iteration is really timeless. I don't like the 996, but the last of the 993 models (especially the "2/4S" are beautiful. Don't ever sell that car.

Now that you realize you messed up the car badly with those wheels, I'll be happy to take it off your hands for you, as a favor of course...

Har har. That is SWEEEET!

Beautiful car and nifty wheels... Gee, how much did it cost to have the wheels refinished? I have the same ones in 17" size on my Carrera. I wonder how they would look in red to match the body...?

What an amazing car. Beautiful wheels and body work too!! Do you know what it is missing? I think a big white bulldog in the passenger seat would just top the picture off perfectly!! Anyway, just a thought. Congratulations. Toodeloo for now, Gabbygirl.

Thanks to all for the kind words. Now to respond to some of your questions:

mikez: you must have been reading my mind; I still have the original 18" Technology Hollow-Spokes an plan on shipping them to Wheel Enhancement to have them stripped & sprayed with their semi-gloss black.

JackOlsen: The car is parked in an underground garage and surrounded by special titanium security posts in Brooklyn secured 8' into the ground. I use to live on the Upper West Side, but could never own a car like this there - the roads in Manhattan really suck. Those rare times that I do drive into Manhattan, the car is briefly parked in front of my office on Wall Street (5 minutes max), or in front of a fire hydrant.

Leland Pate: As you can see from my answer above, I run an Investment Firm on Wall Street. Worked my ass off to get where I am today (if I told you my life's story, you'd sit there and cry); joined the Marines after high school because my parents couldn't afford to send me to college. After the Marines (oh, did I mention I was a 20-year-old Sergeant?), I worked & went to school at the same time to support my disabled mother (dad had passed on while I was in the Marines). I was 30-years-old by the time I got my B.Sc. My M.Sc. came 2 years later. Was recruited by a huge international consulting firm, laid-off 1-year later due to a merger (last one hired, first one fired). Spent the summer feeling sorry for myself, then decided to start my own firm in '94. Best thing anyone can do is to work for themselves; sure I saw my share of PB&J's and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese in the early days, but (knock-on-wood) we're way past that stage now. I'm certainly not the
largest firm on The Street, but I'm comfortable.

Larry Bell: Actually that pic was recently taken at 6:20 AM on the upper-level parking garage of The Home Depot in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The only time you'll see me near the Port Authority is to stop at the Cupcake Cafe on 9th & 39th.

Sputterbug: I listed the complete breakdown on an earlier post, but the grand total was just under $6,000 (includes fresh Michelin Pilot Sports).

Yet another successful military story. If I could go back to 18,I'd consider it now, but only because my high school grades blew, and I had about as much discipline as a flower child on 'shrooms.

Some folks, the wandering, floating types, can use the discipline found there.
My buddy is an ex-marine too, and we met at Junior college (in Calculus he an eng major, and I a math major; he's a few years older).

He had big dreams, and the discipline to carry them out. He only applied to UCLA, didn't accept his first rejection letter and forced himself in. After getting his degree, despite having no cash, and offers for good engineering jobs, he insisted on law school and three more years of debt and no cash.

I took the easy route and went into the job market as a teacher (doh, but only for a short time).
He Passed the bar his second try, and now he's Da Man.

Funny thing is, with a UCLA Eng degree, Pepperdine J.D., and attorney plaques, his Marine Corp Discharge is the most prominent piece of paper on that wall!

Mine were stripped then powder coated....I hate chrome, and the white would have shown the brake dust.
