engine identification?
The number I wrote down is 6109763. I looked on the elferhelfer website and there is no listing past 6107999. Did I just transpose the 9 and the 7? I really don't think I did. I would check but the car is 25 miles away.
Would it have anything to do with it being a U.S. spec car that was picked up in Germany by the owner rather than being shipped to a dealership in the States? Thanks for the help, Allan |

Thanks. I guess I was reading the chart wrong.

Bill,
Strange as it is, the 911/07 has two series: 6105001 to 7999 and 8501 to 9955. The series 8000 to 8500 were the 911/08 Sportomatic engines 8000 to 8374. Porsche built more 2.2Ts than they originally allocated numbers for. Best, Grady |
That clears it up.
Thanks, Grady |
