Had the front end aligned at two different shops. The camber is out by one degree when we run out of adjustment on the struts. Is there a fix for this or will I have to live with it. My wrench said a strut brace may help.

Joe, please post your alignment angles for each front wheel. If you have run out of adjustment, you most likely have a bent strut.

Both strut cambers are plus 1 degree. The spec is plus one half degree. There was nothing bent underneath the car and everthing was tight. Strut hits the side of the inner fenders.

By saying the strut hits the side of the inner fender, do you mean the inner portion? Like they cannot go inwards any further to lessen camber? Hhmmm. No way a strut brace will help you there. And besides most people run at least 1 degree NEAGTIVE camber on the front. Hard to say without seeing it, but something just isnt right. Some possibilities, machine hooked up wrong, incorrectly installed or wrong type struts, bent parts, incorrect ride height, and i'm sure some others i cant think of right now. Of course you could just fork out the cash and buy some new adjustable camber plates. [This message has been edited by rattlsnak (edited 05-06-2001).] |
