HELP Needed have 0 system pressure
 

Ok guys, I have had my 79 sc garaged all winter just working on new ingnition wires,plugs dizzycap .I have also made the wur adjustable after reading the many threads here because towards the end of last year the car was being a pain to start cold. Ive bought the guage kit in order to test pressures and have followed the instructions on this website ,i guess I have missed someting as when I turn ignition on to get system pressures-I get a big 0? Anybody got an idea of where I should look next,I have not touched any other parts of the fuelling system. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Colin

Either your fuel pump insn't running, you hooked the gauge up to the wrong location or the gauge isn't working.

Check your fuses first and make sure the fuel pump runs
Next open a fitting on the fuel lines to see whether you have fuel pressure

This should be an easy one to track down

did you unplug the switch on the back of the air intake for the fuel pump, or try lift up on the airflow sensor to make the pump run?

On '79SC cars, the fuel pump won't be running until terminal #30 (fuel pump relay) is energized. With the ignition switch turned to 'RUN' position, you can test it two ways:
1). Lift the air sensor plate.
2). Remove the FP relay and bridge terminals #87a & #30.

I personally prefer the latter procedure. Make sure that the CIS gauge kit is properly connected to get the desired control and system pressures. Good luck.
