seat porn - check out my new/old seats!

hi guys. I'm so excited I just had to put up a few pics of my new seats in the '66. got them thru the board here and another perfect pelican transaction, with 911quest this time. (thanks again Tony). sort of negates the possibility of taking my larger friends for rides and I certainly can't get too large in the fundament either. good seats for the butt-o-meter, not a bad idea in a SWB with a webered 2.7 they need a good cleaning but that can wait till I get a little 'seat' time. Don.

Very nice and you probably took about 50 lbs out of your car too!

just did a weigh-in. the new seats are 22 lbs lighter than stock, each. the bases probably account for 5-6 lbs each. they're corbeau sliders with no tip-up feature. I figure I'll fab up some aluminum mounts for the driver's side. it doesn't need to move. and some kind of tip bracket for the pass. side, the kids need to be able to get in.

Love the seats!!!

Love the door panels and carpet to!

My $.02:
Could consider ditching the rear seat backs and replacing the bottoms with a used piece of like carpet.

Then it is perfect!

Well, maybe clock & radio delete plugs, TRE reproduction roll bar...

those seats look cool. i've always been looking for a better seat option in my 84 (i.e., by "better" I mean more sporty since I have non sport OEM seats). i tried a sparco racing seat once but took it out because it didn't look oem enough. these look pretty oem.

the only thing i wouldn't like is that the seat belt seems like it won't do much given the fact the sides are so high. the sparco one i had had similar high sides but a triangular hole in the corners for the seat belt to pass through.

now i just use a cg-lock with my oem seats and it helps a lot, i think.... the thing is it seems the cg-lock wouldn't help any with this type of seat though.

I do need better belts. those were the optional belts in '66, apparently the car came with none stock.

PS. I've got a set of deep six hearts at the wheel shop right now. I'll post a couple of pics once they're on. also a pair of megaphones I'm putting some baffling in to use on the street.
