Side view mirrors for my 911E Targa from 1973
Is there anyone "out there", who can specify the correct size of the original rectangular side view mirrors from my 911E from 1973? I am getting a little uncertain of the correct size as there seems to be two sizes in Porsche land.
Hope you can help :-) /Jan from Denmark

My understanding is the 72-73 cars had the smaller mirror (I'm not sure of the exact dimensions, but they're hard to come by though repros are available) and the larger mirror came along in 74. By the way, the round Druant mirror (large size) was still available as an option into the 73 model year--saw one posted on this board from the original owner!

'72-'73 = 5 13/16" x 3 7/16"
'74 = 6 13/16" x 4 1/8" |

mirrors from old BMWs are almost exactly the same and well made
either 2002 or 320, IIRC |

RWebb has a good lead for you if you cannot find the small mirror in OEM. The 2002 and 320i up to 1979 are the models to seek, but I can't vouch for the dimensions. Much more chance of finding a right side mirror too.
