Assistance required!!
Hi All,
I'm having issues with my -1982 Porsche 911 sc-. Car starts perfectly but the engine dies right away. I feels like if the engine was not getting any gas. I press the gas pedal with no response (it happened all of the sudden, car was running fine, went to visit some friends and when I was about to leave, it started giving issues). Once again here are the symptoms. .Car starts no issues. .Gas pedal does not responds .Engine dies after a few seconds. (sometimes it stays running very weakly and dies once I press the gas pedal). Can anyone please give me a hand with this issue? Thanks in advance for all your help!! |

Check your oil cap and make sure it is completely secured, check you fuses, vacuum lines...remember it takes 3 things for a motor to run: air-gas-spark and your symptoms seem sudden and therefore probably easily corrected...
eye ball eberything in the day light and make sure everything is connected-secured..and let us know how it goes... Good luck!

You should search the forum as there is a lot of info on this type of behavior on CIS cars.
Quite often it is down to an out of spec WUR, which is causing a too lean condition on start/warmup. Another likely culprit is the AAR which is not keeping the revs high during warmup. If you get a Bentley manual, or check here for past threads, you will find how to check your control pressures w/ a gauge you can get from JC Whitney for about $60. Other things to check are all ignition items and vacuum leaks.
