cig socket removal?

Hi guys, Do you guys know how to take out the cig socket for a 74 911? Need to replace it with a new one. Thanks.

Disconnect the wiring from the back side and unscrew the retaining ring that holds it in, also from the back side.

Cigarette Ligther Socket......

Jinos,

Just recently removed a cigarette ligther socket and don't remember anything particularly difficult. Disconnect the electrical connection from the rear end. Then slide it out pressing the tabs on its sides. I think that's the only think holding it in place. The removal was so easy, I gave it away for FREE to one Pelicanhead from Colorodo. HTH.

They unscrew. I use the reverse spreading snap ring pliers to loosen the front while reaching in through the clock hole to hold the back. Screw the front off then pull the rest out the back.
As always, disconnect your battery before any work.
