Hi all,

I've been lurking for quite some time and finally decided to come out and post.

I have been a Porsche fan since I was a kid and I'm know a certified fanatic (I now write a blog all about Porsche). My current Pcar ride is a '97 993 C4S. I purchased it 18 months or so ago and the best picture I have is still the one that made me buy it in the first place. :-)

Looking forward to being part of another great Porsche group here at Pelican.

John

IMHO, you made a very good decision on what 911 to purchase.

That's a great pic and my favorite view of the C4S. Why Porsche went away from the "coke bottle" look still baffles me.

Almost anyone who compares a 993 C4S with the newer H2O 911's should be able to see why your car will hold it's value far better than the newer 911's. In fact, the 993 C4S is already more desirable (read that as worth more) than most any of the first few years of the water cooled 911's.

You got a keeper!!

hmmmm. Post my location? I have your dream car? Seem like if I do that, I might find my car missing... :D

I'm in the Northeast. Massachusetts to be more specific.

thank you and couldn't agree more. She just turned 30k. Has Cashmere full leather interior, aluminum appearance package (guages, sills ebrake, shifter) CD Changer, Motosound, and Logocrest on the headrests.

I have yet to see another in the same color combo. I'm sure there are some out there, just haven't seen them.

I saw one that looked exactly like yours at Foreign Cars Italiano in Greensboro, NC. Got a funny story for you.

The C4S was in for service and the gal that owned it asked if they could keep in on the showroom floor until she returned from an overseas trip. So it was sitting next to one of the new 911's. This was around 2000 I think.

I had purchased a '96 993 Tip coupe from them and knew one of the salesmen pretty good and we often agitated each other. I called him over and mentioned that it amazed me that they allowed the old C4S to be on the floor with the new cars. He naturally asked me why and I replied that anyone in their right mind would never buy one of the new cars when it was parked next to one of the old "coke bottle" cars. I told him "Hell, my car looks better than the new ones and the wide body C4S makes the new ones look pathetic."

He looked at them for a second and said "Damn, you're right...we gotta get that thing outta here!!"

True story.

You're safe- I'm going to get a silver one! Seriously though- if you add your location to your profile, folks will have a better idea who/where to suggest for stuff. Massachusetts is probably close enough!

Cheers,

Paul.

One of the best 911s of all time in my book. I have and always will drool at the sight of a 993 C4S.
Awesome car man! More pictures please!

Will do. Thanks for the tip. My car should be back on the road in a couple of weeks. Just ordered new tires and planning on doing the 30k service over the next week or so. by then, we should have had enough rain where i'll bring her out from her long winter nap.
