Door Mechanism Lubricant?
I'm getting my '84 Targa ready for the coming nice weather (UPS man showed up Friday with a box from Pelican!!!) and I'm wondering what folks are using to lube their door latches and hinges. As a Jeep guy, it's all white lithium grease. Anything different for our P-cars?
Kind Regards, Tom |

Wurth HHS-2000 Penetrating High Temperature Lubricant may be better. It is for sure stickier and transparent.

Of course they do.
![]() It would be convenient if I knew that Pep Boys/NAPA/Checker/Auto Zone had it too. I'd rather not have shipped, unless I was adding it to another order. (Hey, what else do I need... ![]() I shot Wurth USA an e-mail to asked if any brick and mortar parts shop carry their stuff. I let you knwo when I hear back. Kind Regards, Tom |

I use GT Grease from another catalog. It's synthetic and looks clear. My other favorite new small parts grease is ATE caliper grease.

This is not a real critical part.
Your dog's ear wax will work well also. |

Over a period of time door hinges wear out, I like a moly based lube for things like that, like EP bearing grease that has moly in it.
The HHS-2000 is great stuff for alot of things, the first time I used it I thought that it was what I wanted WD-40 to be like the first time I tryed it. I never us WD-40 unless I am wanting to remove water from something. Dog ear wax is a new one on me ![]() ![]() Randy Jones 1971 911 "Iris" (no ear wax here) |
