Hi, folks. I'm looking at possibly storing my 1988 Club Sport for 2-3 months due to a work-related opportunity. I purchased it back in February, without paying much attention to current market values--I simply couldn't find any others for sale--and a local P-car wrench (that I trust) felt it was a very good deal. Anyway, I need to find an approximate value for the insurance policy. Kelly Blue Book doesn't track the Club Sport, and I can't find anything in Excellence back issues. Where else can I look for the "magic number"?

I think you have a couple options.
1) As a member of the PCA (you are right?) you can send them the details of your car and they will provide you with a range of values that you car might be worth (depending on condition). My insurance company would not accept this valuation for an agreed value policy. 2) Pay somebody to do a full blown appraisal. I had mine done for $90 or something like that. You get a nice big report, complete with pictures of everything. This is what most insurance companies require for the less mainstream vehicles. Anyway, that was my experience with it. CB |

stay FAR FAR away from the KBB values. if anyone quotes you KBB it's because they are trying to rip you off. the PCA valuation is the best one out there.
