Engine running too rich
Last week i took the car to the mechanci so he can go all across the check-measure-adjust guide so the car would be on a perfect adjustmen befor continue using it.
After all, he corrected the grades at the distribituor but he told he had 2 problems. problems: 1) it appears that one cylinder is not working well. He told me like the cylinder is leaking and i have to change the gaskets i think. Also that one pair of valves are stuck, not responding, and maybe that's why my car doesn't idle perfect. Is that a very complicate work to do for a mechanic? The car is working "well" i mean i can use and all that but it's not at perfect condition. The car never had the gasket changed, as far as i know and it has 100.000 milles on it. 2) He told me he can't change the simptom that the engine is running too rich, because the injector pump is not responding. HE think that the problem is that the little rubbers inside are worn out and need a change, but my question is. Can i buy them and change it? is it easy for a mechanic open the pump and renew it? or it haves a lot of small pieces and like some one say "once open, never closed again" Also as a reference if it helps, when i put full throttle, it revs up at a determined speed and when it reachs +o- 4500 RPM it climb RPM faster (it appears like a car with turbo). thanks!! ariel |
