metal flange attached to cv boot?

I have a 1982 porsche sc and need my rear cv boot replaced, i just purchased a couple rubber boots without the flange, then i found out my car uses the metal flanges,my question is how are these boots secured to the metal flanges, or do you have to buy them in one piece like that?

On my '79 the metal on the flanges crimp over the rubber. I was able to pry the metal crimp back in tiny segments with the help of a welding torch and a screw driver. Once i had the old one out, and the new one in position, I used a wide metal drift and a hammer to crimp it back again, working around the flange in tiny segments. Hope that helps!
