o2 on 82 3.0 problems

did a engine swap on my 74 custom 911 to an 82 3.0 with lamba control. swapped over all wiring harness, drilled and put 02 bung on my brand new ssi manifolds engine cranked rite up and ran great (after new wur and all vacume hoses) but no input to freq. valve. took control unit apart (the box under the pass seat) and it looked like it had been under water and lots of burned spots on the board. should i go to the trouble of replacing it, will the car run correctly with out it, or should i go to a earlier cis set up with out 02. and what set up should i use I am fairly new to porsche this is my first one, but was a bmw tech at coker bmw in tx for 16 years, I know bmw used cis to but that was before my time. what should i do? have spent 2 years building this car and is almost ready for the street, just need to iron out a few issues

First off, check the relay next to the box for power. Now onto the second part of the question, yes, you need the lambda brain in good working order. I have two dyno sheets posted on this board, one without the sensor connected and one with, the one without is all over the damn place on the AFR's. Now that's with the freq valve at least working, but at a fixed duty rate. I'm surprised your engine runs so well, if I unplug the freq valve on mine it starts to run like hell.

the relay is powerd up with key in run position, but there is no voltage any where else

the relay can take the power in but not deliver it out. probably 87 and 87a output if i remember right, so check that.

checked it, no power out , but still will have to find a working ecm for an 82sc, is that possible? a guy here in town says to scrap my setup and go to an early set up w/out 02. He say it will be a simpler system and will give more power, whats you take on that. Nice shop john

With my worked over engine I'm consider doing what you want to do, drop the lambda and go native. If you do can you PM me on how well it worked?

pop on a 78/79 sensor plate housing, fuel distributor, fuel lines and warmup regulator if you can dig one up. simpler for sure.
if you have no power out of the relay to the computer, how do you know the computer is bad? just because it's crusty doesn't necessarily condemn it.

its beyond crusty ,its burnt toast,
